Upgrading or downgrading your plan
Plans can change any time in either direction. Here is how proration works, what happens to your data, and how the email-routed flow plays out.
- Key takeaways
- Upgrades apply immediately with day-prorated billing; downgrades wait for the period end.
- Yearly totals: $79.99 / $149.99 / $197.59, unused time is credited on upgrade.
- Nothing is deleted on downgrade, out-of-window history is archived for 12 months.
How to request a change
Email billing@bobray.com or use the contact form with topic “Billing”. Tell us the plan you want; we confirm the math before anything changes, every change is reviewed by a person.
Upgrades
Upgrades apply immediately. On monthly billing you pay the difference, prorated to the day, on your next invoice. On yearly billing we credit the unused portion of your current year against the new plan's yearly price ($79.99 Starter, $149.99 Growth, $197.59 Scale) and invoice the remainder.
Downgrades
Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period so you keep what you paid for. Nothing is deleted: if you drop from Scale to Growth, data older than Growth's 3-year retention window is archived, not destroyed, and reappears if you upgrade again within 12 months.
Trials and plan choice
Since the trial unlocks everything, the plan you “picked” at trial time is only a default. Tell us a different one when you activate and we will set it up, no penalty, no friction.
Common pitfalls
The mistakes we see most often on this topic, so you can skip them entirely.
- Downgrading mid-cycle expecting an instant refund; the change lands at renewal instead.
- Assuming trial plan choice is binding, tell us any tier at activation.
- Deleting sites before downgrading 'to fit', archive handles retention automatically.
